Doctors say that vaccines protect children from dangerous diseases. A nepo baby who barbecues dogs and snorts cocaine off toilet seats says that vaccines make children vulnerable to 5G radiation. For busy parents, it can be hard to know who to trust.

I'm calling length changes from the CIGAR. Each thread does both read fetching and processing, so I don't think that could explain this

graph showing memory use of parsing a CRAM file using rust-htslib

I am fetching reads from cram files in Rust, using rust-htslib and a rayon thread pool. It surprises me that memory use is flat up to 5 threads, but then takes off linearly. Does anyone have a clue what is going on? @robp.bsky.social @johanneskoester.bsky.social

Whether it's Donald Trump getting half a billion dollars from United Arab Emirates or Joe Biden getting free ice cream from a shop in Delaware, influence peddling has been a problem for both men.

#Iran is in the middle of #REVOLUTION. This isn't about inflation. It's about 47 years of oppression.
Listen to the chants: "death to the dictator," calls for regime change, and demands for the Shah's return.
Be the voice of the Iranian people.

Individual success yes. The collective success is something that the individual on the wrong track doesn't get any reward for.

Choose your human genome reference wisely - Nature Methods Scientists can choose between multiple human genome references, and a pangenome reference is coming. Deciding what to use when is not quite straightforward.

As new human assemblies become available on beta.ensembl.org - which human reference genome will you choose? This article explores the question with insights from Ensembl’s own Fergal Martin - www.nature.com/articles/s41...
