Advice from friend on appropriate food for lactating mom, which was welcome and I've given it to her. She's already eaten a lot thank goodness.

She's being a great mamacita and nursing the kittens.

Also, suddenly super social with me wanting pets and for me to talk to her.

I'm visiting my mom, whose health is not great, who took in "Simba" from a friend. "He" was skittish when I first got here a few days ago. Last night, he let me pet him.

Y'all, Simba was clearly Nala because suuuuuuper pregnant.

Today, kittens.

Omg.

Omfg.

I don't even know what I'm doing.

The story is a product of its time (1930s) and does have some problematic elements from a modern lens. But hot damn is the dialogue snappy.

It's been over 20 years since read "The Thin Man" and it's just as quippy and booze-soaked as I remember.

Nick and Nora have such a fun, lighthearted vibe. Quite a departure from Sam Spade and the Continental Op (I also enjoy those stories; they're just different).
