Recently went to ED for abd sx, assuming I needed a CT. Normal vitals, labs, and "didn't wince" when people palpated even though I told them it was tender. Only once I said I also didn't wince with IUD placement did the female res take me seriously. This wouldn't have influenced most male providers.

Okay, but to be fair it did smell rancid for the past week.

Now that I'm getting older, I understand why clap-on lights were invented.
