It's problem throughout sports. You find scouts only recruiting 6'1" forwards from Nor Cal or Central Defenders from Region 4. I'm simplifying but it can and does apply to culture / race etc. It's why self examination is so important as a scout or coach. 95% don't do it tho

I'm old enough to remember when it was hard to to get the Dads to let their Latina daughters play Travel (in the DMV at least) Now we have a different problem. Same old reasons though when it comes to players. ALL PEOPLE have innate biases. It doesn't have to be malevolent to be harmful.
