Do yourself a favour and watch The Leopard on Netflix. It’s absolutely sumptuous from start to finish with outstanding performances

Only an administration intent on committing war crimes in the present and future would stoop to calling Wounded Knee a "battle" rather than what it truly was: a massacre of over 250 Lakotas, mainly women, children, and the elderly. 1/

‘Professional actor’ behind attacks that closed Danish airports, defence minister says Drones overfly four more airports forcing Aalborg to halt traffic two nights after shutdown at Copenhagen terminals

Slightly confusing headline. Turns out it’s not referring to a member of Equity…

Pet parrots were taught to do video calls, and it was a hit.

The birds not only made friends with each other, and selected who they wanted to call and when, but also picked up new skills from fellow parrots.
Good enrichment option for improving captive parrot welfare.

Revenue at Duolingo in 2024 was up 41% on 23 to $748M. Net income was up by 451% for same period and yet they're firing workers. We've long been at "insatiable greed" point of late stage capitalism. People may feel helpless but there's a very easy way to kick companies like this. Delete their apps.

The Greens now have nearly 200 more councillors than Reform.

This is not something you'd be likely to guess from all the copiously salivating media coverage of Farage & his crew of billionaire-backed far-right chancers.

“Why do you think we have so many more kids with Autism”

David Dennis Jr. @DavidDTSS quotetweets this reply:
“Probably for the same reason there are so many more planets in outer space now than there were before the telescope was invented”

Home | The Male Journey The Male Journey affirms and supports men seeking a life-long journey of spiritual consciousness in order to transform themselves, and through these journeys, their relationships, families, workplaces...

My letter was printed in the Guardian yesterday (bottom of page): tinyurl.com/3txpy7r4. Unfortunately they cut out the name of the charity I work with: www.malejourney.org.uk (I suspect because the mention of spirituality frightened the horses)

The proof is, and I cannot emphasise this enough, not in the pudding.

The proof of the pudding is, emphatically, in the eating.

Please stop looking for the proof in the pudding. You're just getting your fingers covered in custard.

Title:
The 'Narrator About To Ruin Your Audiobook' Talent Agency

[There follows a series of cheesy black and white actors’ headshots, with names and descriptive captions]

Liz Chirpley
A very expressive narrator. Like, far too expressive really. We've asked her to dial it down.

Greg Mistake
Once read a whole book on Chernobyl, out loud, for money. Still can't pronounce the word 'nuclear’.

Sebastian Equality
Does a really committed ‘woman voice' for all his female characters. We’ve asked him to dial it down.

Brian Decanter
Will read your serious literary novel out *perfectly* apart from one (1) character which he will do in a sort of 'cartoon dog' voice and we simply do not know why.

British Voice 3
We found him in settings. Needs a charger but my god he's cheap.

Leonard Darling-Mwah
Really goes for the Indian accents!
Absolutely fearless. We've asked him to dial it down.

Chris
[Show an actor headshot of someone who is clearly a hand puppet]
The absolute king of trauma memoirs but when we give him biscuits they just fall out of his mouth onto the floor which makes us think he may be some kind of puppet.

Emily Lewis
[Show an actor headshot of a girl, eyes rolling up, clearly possessed]
Can do a very convincing 'man voice'. Needs restraints, and a priest.

J.C. Slurpee
Author with a really, really wet mouth who we had to let narrate his own book because he's famous.
Unlistenable.

Stuart Wilkinson
[Show an actor headshot of a duck]
Great energy, can't read.

The experience at Twitter has been miserable for years because when you try to have an intelligent discussion, these assholes show up and start flinging their own feces.

I have no interest in creating an echo chamber, but there’s no need to live like that.

Mod lists like this one are priceless.

We’ve put a lot of work into making Bluesky a healthier social network. This app is designed to give you a choice — in what you want to see, what you don’t want to see, and how you want to interact.
