A wholesale restructuring of the tax system, shifting the burden from earned income to wealth and rentier income - encouraging investment in productive assets and a Just Transition.

1. How come this has happened just a few days after it became national news?
2. How did just one man (and a van?) manage to fly-tip so much commercial waste?
I’m not sure… But, I have to admit that many of your political hunches I have disagreed with over the years have turned out to be right. Hope this doesn’t break that streak!

21.11.2025 22:41 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0An additional 2% employee contribution increases the pension to £10,000. An employee contribution of 10% means £77,500 lump sum and pension of £15,500. Of course, the state pension will be paid from age 68 (or perhaps even later by then).
When will the means test kick in?
It all depends where the threshold is set. But a full-time 25yo on min wage who has been auto-enrolled into a pension and is making contributions at 3% (employer contributions 5%) can expect at 65 a lump sum of £38700 and a pension of £7780 [source: NEST]. 1/2
