There’s a lot of blame to go around, and yes that sort of thing is a problem I complain about often, but with this particular thing, it’s that “respectable” outlets both in print and on TV push complete bollocks, which legitimises it. We know the Telegraph is a rag, to most, “a paper wouldn’t lie”.

People are getting complete horseshit from what they believe to be and what are presented as sources of reliable, accurate information. That’s the problem

Let it never be forgotten that part of the reason Thatcher deliberately ruined television in 1990 was because the ITV companies (such as they were) possessed enormous brass balls and weren’t afraid to use them.

I think really the story of the past ten years was people taking for granted 21st century liberalism was locked in and therefore you could just kinda be fashy for a laugh only to realize a moment too late Skinhead Steve wasn’t joking after all.
