We ran out of Ms Cat’s special wet food so we’re trying her on Mr Cat’s special wet food. She ate it all. I’m shaken. She wouldn’t eat all of her given food at any point, but this a rarity. It could just be novelty.

May explain the headache I’m getting today…

Just an FYI, they used a print file from the available DE Warframe files. They wanted to use a nice smoky purple but were out and we both know that orange or fluorescent yellow is not the true colour of citrine. I’m kind of a stickler that way. My fashion frame version is purple gold and black.

My partner made me my Warframe main out of smoky black resin! It is very cool. It is now standing next to my Peach Riot faerie. Yes I main Citrine, it is the best frame. It will need painting but I need a gold acrylic paint.

Ugh… that’s me using the Norman Catch phrase seeing as how measles is now back and infecting people when we had it nearly licked.

I’ve been extra cautious for the last 6 years now… I’m glad I kept up with it.

He’s a smart old man cat, I think he understands that this is to help him but I approached him with affection and calm and started with pets. I’m pretty sure it registered afterwards that if I can do this just once, we can get on to the good stuff (food).

And by poke, I mean I needed to recentre the needle, find a new sub q site, and attempt again. Which lead to more snapping and screaming (on his part, not mine, I’m trying to remain calm), and more wrestling and more missed pokes which entered the circle again.

The amount of fighting and hissing and snapping my cat was doing you think I was trying to hurt him. I had to give him his old age pain meds… it was a needle, but I had to tell him, the more you move and fight, the more times I have to poke, which seemed to register and he softened to let me do it.

Five ish. I can eat blue cheese if it’s got a heavier flavour surrounding it but can’t if I have it alone. It’s only because I can smell the mould and I gag. If it’s on a sandwich melted with fried onions, it is doable. Olives is a not on your life.

Passports are here!! That’s wicked quick for the passport folks, so thank you so much for the help and the patience Winnipeg office of Passport Canada! Appreciate it mightily!

I got to get some sleep last night. And then today, I ordered myself my birthday present, another imp. By the end of the year, hopefully my imp plushie count will be 5.

My partner helped me shave my hair again. I’m struggling with the sensation of having hair in the same way I struggle with having nails. I know it’s there and serves a function, but my body doesn’t feel right.

My day started really off, but with the new Helluva Boss Short and @rifftrax.com ‘s Atomic Eden, I’m able to get out of this little funk I’m in.

Next week I’m putting our name into the Kickstarter for MST3K the Rifftrax Experiment, and ordering my other birthday present.

Went to Ikea today and bought some containers for cat food, and a bunny tray. As I was leaving, I saw it. The thing I’ve been needing for the last few years. A jar opener. My hands cannot open even the easiest of lids. Best 4$ I ever spent.

Groceries done, and I got my birthday book. Let’s roll.

I love both. Can I not do both? Paleo and Genetics and instrumental tech? Can I do space Geo? What about Space Paleo?

I’m in a happy sad space… happy because I am learning something great, but sad because of time…

I took many genetics related classes in anthropology, but it only scratched some of the itches. Then I ignored it, much like I ignored my love of rocks and paleontology. And now I’m doing it and I love it so much. But how does one reconcile this with paleo?

I’m very scared to admit that I love Genetics. This has been a long journey for me, starting from a young person and being told that science wasn’t for me (because babies, you see), and that Biology wasn’t for me to learn (defies the way God made the world, plus sex…)…

The funniest thing is, I have been craving a Blizzard (there’s something about a cookie dough blizzard…) and I’ve been thinking about his comment. So I thought it was a funny idea to take him ice cream for my “birthday party”. So guess what we’re doing on Friday. LOL!

So yesterday was my birthday, but it sure didn’t feel like one. And then I heard something that touched my heart. My grandpa (who is in his 90s) was upset I wasn’t getting a party. I am low contact with my extended family, for my mental health. But that was super sweet.

In the study of genetics, I love doing family trees and pedigree analysis… I used to do family trees for fun. Even went so far as to work on soap opera family trees… and now my brain wants to do the family tree of the Ars Goetia in Helluva Boss…. Yeah… it’s probably a tube…

1 day.

I do not expect anything tomorrow. I have a long day of class and lab. I doubt there will even be anything special for dinner. I will treat myself to a cherry cola zero, though because everyone deserves a good drink on their birthday.

2 days.

Honestly, never thought I’d get to this point. I’m pretty impressed.

It’s been 5 months without pain, and 5 without the added mental stress of being in constant agony. Living as long as I did with the Essure pain… it doesn’t feel real that I’m here.

After everything that broke in the last month, I’m happy to announce that something was fixed February 1! We were missing a bolt for one of our cupboards. I found it in the junk drawer.

Today’s walk was the worst so far this winter. As you can see, there is a tremendous amount of drifting and filling in of sidewalks. We had to walk on the berm and had to use plowed parking lots to have areas that were flat enough to traverse. This city worries too much about cars….

Homework attempted, supper made.

Our NAS quit working… I KNEW there was a 3rd thing to go, and I thought it was the passports. OH… Joy.

At least there are work arounds, and it wasn’t the hard drives that went, just the machine itself. Data is still accessible, but we need to build a new system.

I’m having a great day… 31 January 2026. The month of breaking things! First the Dryer, then my tablet, then the passports, then the NAS… some how my mental health now reminds me of the 12 tasks of Asterix and Obelix and form 838.

This is our Mr. Cat. He is one of the sweetest cats around (though he does play favourites, I’ll admit). He’s the bestest boy.
