I may not be able to do the incredible art magic my mutuals do in the more pro & serious publications, but I feel I'm ready to claim that YA or whatever niche.

If not because of the passion, then out of spite to stop all the weird misinfo and memes spreading and ingraining thru the kids books

I swear, people should hire me to illustrate YA dinosaur books.

I'm tired of traced and copied art, AI, jarringly outdated info, dragons (for some reason?), or "it's a kid's book so it won't matter if the T. rex had 3 fingers" cases.

I'm here to bring you tasty paleoart to the mainstream.

A drawing of four ceratopsians drawn one onto another. Each is larger (or smaller, depending from when you start counting) than the previous one.

Ceratopsians. It should be easy to recognize them, huh?

I can't stop thinking about it and how hard it is for someone coming from the "second world country" to keep up with the western-based economy. No silver lining for us.

Check out the thread if you wanna educate yourself on the topic:

New fossils may settle debate over mysterious sail-backed spinosaurs Spinosaurs have sometimes been portrayed as swimmers or divers, but a new species of these dinosaurs bolsters the idea that they were more like gigantic herons

In which I provide a few thoughts on the new Spinosaurus species, S. mirabilis.

I also stressed the deep connections between one of the study authors - Nathan Myhrvold - and Geoffrey Epstein to New Scientist. They didn't mention it, neither has anyone else.

Myhrvold has denied a friendly relationship and any wrongdoing. But it's pretty tone-deaf that coverage of this paper isn't addressing his involvement, especially when he's prominent in the authorship (3rd of 28). Lots of questions need answering about this, and our media have failed to ask them.

A draft page of a comic with two panels. The first one shows a giant pterosaur landing near a group of small ornithopod dinosaurs. The second one continues it with a closeup of a struggling to escape smaller ornithopod dinosaur.

Funnily enough, similarly to eg. German, our objects tend to be gendered too: a computer is a male, a bag is a female, while a mirror is a "it".

Perhaps they find it too objectifying & offensive?

In our lingo animals (zwierzΔ™ta) are also genderless/objects but specific animals (lions, dogs, spiders) are males while others (tits, fish, weasels, flies). Once we have that, we can tell their sex (similarly to English cow & bull, or hen & cock)

Been thinking about this a lot lately and how alone in this we all are.

Not only, systematically, we are punished for fighting back. Not only men will say we are over-reacting and they will try to normalize this when bringing this up. But men who claim to support us chose to turn a blind eye.

Women in the games industry already have to put up with a lot, but we shouldn’t have to do it alone. Men in the industry: if you see one of your fellow men doing behaving this way towards a woman at a professional conference, please speak up and tell them to CUT IT OUT.

I'm Polish, so not sure if such a shift is strong enough in our lingo cuz kids in general sense are genderless/objects grammatically speaking. Every child is "it" here, unless you wanna specify whether it's a boy or girl.

Apologies for firing strays at gamers here who I want to be clear are not the problem.

But I find it really frustrating the way that the conversation on a wide scale tech shortage that's started a couple years ago and gotten worse throughout the AI boom is focusing on toys rather than survival.

While not very reassuring, the pain medicine used alcohol, and then it had opium, or cannabis.
Surgeries were, like, the last resort cuz they would be so painful and you would probably die anyway. Totally morbid stuff

Yeah, they pretty much did if they were unlucky.
In fact, in some parts of the world the children's mortality was so high that the parents didn't even give them names until much later.
