My family has a lot of connection to that community, I know a lot of people who worked on and off up there for years. It's a community of less than 3000 people and everyone there is going to know someone that was victimized yesterday. Devastating

I have a referral appointment coming up this month but apparently this was announced mid-January so I'm already worried about how it could be affecting wait times (and side eyeing out of pocket prices in other countries that I definitely can not afford)

Just learned that BC is discontinuing GRS referrals to Montreal (at least ones covered under the provincial medical plan) because they apparently are happy enough with the newer Vancouver services....which already have about a 3 year wait between referral and surgery 🙃
