Starting to think that we shouldn't allow the worst people in the world to have a hand in shaping technology

Folks in the field abandoned the Turing Test like 40y ago. Since, the Turing Test has been keeping Laplace's daemon and other hypothetical thought experiments company.

It's cute and interesting from a psychological and historical standpoint but that's it. It's not an actual metric.

The "Turing Test" is not an actually relevant test for ... anything really.

Turing came up with a massively important theoretical concept (the Turing Machine). Helped with the Enigma machine. All impressive. "The Turing Test"? Not so much.

This is bonkers. MAHA 'farmers' with ecoli tainted raw milk admit they really don't know how to make the stuff after all.

"Producing raw milk takes careful planning from a facility and infrastructure standpoint. Unfortunately, we learned this after the fact."

this stuff has really broken me. it's simply astounding that so many people who have been allowed to amass unimaginable wealth are so droolingly stupid, so unmoored from and in fact hostile to any sense of community or social responsibility, and oh by the way they love to constantly rape children

Trump ruins everything he touches.

Republicans put him in power. Don't forget that. Thus is all the fault of Republicans who lined up and said, "Yup, I'll vote for the pedo bankrupt a casino grifter guy!"

And, yeah, a lawyer saying this to a judge is wild. Shit must be bad bad.
