Years ago I drew every member of the Reds Hall of Fame (everyredshalloffamer.wordpress.com) and he's my favorite.
Reds are going to the playoffs, baby!!!!

Barry Bonds went seven consecutive games without a hit from April 30th to May 9th, 2004.
He scored six times & carried a .483 OBP during those seven games.
Bonds never went eight straight games without a hit in his career.

27.08.2025 18:19 — 👍 15 🔁 6 💬 1 📌 0Who is the most underrated professional Canadian baseball player?
A strong case could be made for Eleanor Callow, who was born on this date in Winnipeg in 1927.
She's the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League's all-time HR leader (55) and all-time triples leader (60).
She died in 1974.
A funny bit would be if the Dodgers and Blue Jays make last-minute decisions on Friday to switch to two young starting pitchers instead of Kershaw vs. Scherzer, going full circle 17 years later

An oddity just noticed: Hal O'Hagan took part in seven triple plays between 1898 and 1907, all in the minor leagues, plus two in the majors. One of these, on August 18, 1902, was an unassisted triple play, and was long regarded as the first such.
01.08.2025 15:37 — 👍 21 🔁 2 💬 1 📌 0The day after trade deadline feels like a good time to mention that the price of an annual FanGraphs membership is going up from $60 to $80 on Monday. The good news is that this makes a three-year membership for $150 a massive bargain for the next 72 hours.
