I’ve had agonising neck pain by half way through the week for months.

Got a new office chair on Wednesday. Access to work specialist one because I have a lower spinal injury.

No pain tonight despite two desk days in a row!

Old chair wasn’t actually level anymore it turns out.

I have never even removed the display from the box. No idea where it even is. The smart meters were installed before the wifi so they couldn’t set it up.

Oh and the gas meter is too far from the electric meter so it’s dumb anyway. But the electric sends readings without the needing display.

Was surprised to discover we still have some landline phones at work. My desk somehow didn't get a phone installed in an office move in 2018 so I haven't had one since then, I just use my (work) mobile.

I'm liking the affirmative posts like this. I had aunties and uncles who were my grandparents' friends - many of them having emigrated to NZ on the same boat in 1956.

And my kid knows my close friend group as the "Knitting Aunties".

Jeezo I had aunts and uncles who weren’t even relatives, they just emigrated on the same boat.

That said, in NZ in the 90s the EFTPOS* system crashed every year on the Saturday before Christmas between 11am and 1pm. Like clockwork. This inevitably coincided with my mother doing the big shop.

I have a 42” TV - moved from a 32”.

I read a lot of subtitles which is the only reason I conceded I needed a bigger telly. Though in that case the problem is, I think, not my eyes. The assumption is we’re all watching 60” TVs so I’m sure the subtitles have shrunk. I can still read 12pt across the room if it’s black on white.

I don’t think I’ve ever paid more than £400 for a TV. I suspect my eyes are not good enough to justify the difference these days. I’m usually only half watching and knitting at the same time anyway.

For a while they were allowing lots of people to extend to five years even if they were over 20k miles but they have tightened up again.

They’ve also stopped letting you buy the car at the end which annoyingly was my plan.

At the moment the insurance is very much worth it for me given I have a young driver in the house. When I got my first car it was definitely worth it even without that as a factor. But I’m not sure that’ll be the case now. It’s pretty marginal especially since I’m doing much lower mileage.

When we lived in the midlands my son was one of two white babies at his nursery. I have mild prosopagnosia so it helped a lot (the other white kid had hair). Suspect it reflected whose mothers worked as it didn’t reflect the mix in the neighbourhood.

I used to go to a knit group there and we got chucked out. Regular Wednesday night booking all winter and in those days tourism wasn’t year round.

Many years ago my son put Zelda themes on my phone and for a long time it would randomly play them on long drives.
