How funny, I just rented a copy of that from @scarecrowvideo.bsky.social’s rent by mail program (an R2 dvd, I think). It was in my basket to watch for a project…doesn’t seem like Sautet and Ventura enjoyed making it because of a tough production, but I’m very curious…

Also, I only recently learned that Ventura starred in a Euro coproduced western from 1964 that was directed by Carlos Saura(!!!). WEEPING FOR A BANDIT, which I luckily found a copy of at the NYU library.

Lino Ventura crashes through several doors and at least one armoire in LES BARBOUZES (THE GREAT SPY CHASE). I’m glad I rewatched that.
