Best news I've had all day!

CC is also beyond obviously a fact, and with almost unanimous scientific consensus that the rate of recent warming is largely unprecedented, I guess we need to ask the Hurricane experts to put forward reasons for why there aren't more Cat5's a year (yet). Wouldn't you say?

Nothing impressive, but physics and electronics units as part of my degree. I work in technical audio, and have for the last 35 years.

I don't mean in anyway to impersonate someone with a detailed understanding of hurricanes. Just that I understood it was an agreed fact that warmer temps = more water vapour = more powerful TC's with more destructive effects. Sounds like there are more than a few experts that don't agree. Amiright?

Sounds like it's still irking you. Can imagine how someone with your level of expertise in a famously complex field baulks at easy generalisations. But I'm interested to know if you agree or not that CC is contributing to more destructive and higher category hurricanes ?

Came across this page just now - updated 3hrs ago. In your experienced opinion, does this stand up as reliable data sufficient for an attribution to being made more dangerous by CC ? genuine question

I guess you can say it doesn't belong in the textbook just yet - I imagine (๐Ÿ™) the data is being in collected in rt now - I hope they still have the resources to do that

More people making the RI attribution unambiguously to CC

27.10.2025 09:00 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Thanks for the link. With a speed read of the YCC article, and the (2019) NC article/study it links to. Statement there in relation to RI being attributable to CC - "recent climate modelling work has filled that gap, especially in the Atlantic basin, and confirmed the human fingerprint."

So I take it's not that you have an alternative theory for why Melissa has "explosively intensified"(according to the NHC) overnight, you are just putting forward your opinion that the complexity is still beyond our capacities to genuinely attribute. Obviously you have vast experience.

Did Climate Change Cause This Hurricane?
YouTube video by The YEARS Project Did Climate Change Cause This Hurricane?

James are you familiar with Katherine's work? If you were, I think that would clear up your doubts about her statement. Also for clarity, what she said was that this hurricane *is a textbook example of how climate change is making hurricanes more dangerous* - she agrees with you, see video

Fossil fuel reps and lobbyists should not be allowed anywhere near #COP30 or any future COP events. We need solutions, not lies, false promises and dangerous distractions

I would in fact dare to posit that they are the primary driving force behind the radical push toward authoritarian rule in the US: because they know under any functioning legal democratic system their ass is cooked - the evidence is overwhelming, their only way out is violent authoritarian takeover

The fossil fuel industry is THE most profitable industry in the history of humanity. They most definitely are liable for a vast majority of costs under "polluter pays" rationale. Especially as it's been proven time and again (Exxon papers & Shell's Climate of Concern) that They Knew way back when.
