Remember that letting your voice be heard is an important part of a democracy, so don't be afraid to be annoying to your legislators by being persistent in contacting them. Let them know how their constituents feel. Putting this pressure on the legislators can get them to vote against inequalities.

Writing Effective Letters to your Legislators

If you decide to write to your legislator it is important to do so properly. The resource I have linked below provides an effective guide to writing both physical letters and emails to these legislators.

Once you are aware of who your legislators are you have a few options to get in contact with them. You can either call their office or write an email/letter. If you call you want to make sure that you do so during business hours to talk with a real person.

To start you want to reach out to at least three people. These people are your two state senators and your member of the House of Representatives. If you are unsure of who your representative and senators are you can use this site to find out.

Looking for a way to help further the UN's goal to reduce inequalities? One way you can help if you are in the US is to contact your representatives with your grievances and let your voice be heard. Unsure how to do this? Here is a guide to get you started:
