This whole thing is an embarrassment. He was obviously incredibly poorly vetted. His former policy director — who resigned after the Reddit stuff came out — said he told her about the tattoo several weeks ago; his current staff says she’s lying, trying to throw her under the bus. So gross.

I *think* so. He’s drawing insane crowds and activating them — his campaign has their (large) volunteer base canvassing to fight a bad absentee voting referendum on the ballot next month. I want to hear more from him beyond his very good applause lines… but I’m cautiously optimistic.

Fascinating! I grew up in Monmouth County, which didn’t see noteworthy Canadian tourism. But I now live in southern Maine, where French Canadians (and their speedos!) are a sizeable chunk of summer visitors… so there are similar concerns about what this summer will look like.
