Cut through both boards with a circular saw. If you can't cut through both boards at the same time, detach the boards after the first board is cut through and carefully follow along the started cut on the bottom board to finish.

Overlapping boards with an 18" long triangle drawn/cut on the top board (the bottom board is also cut).

Overlap two boards by at least 3x the width of the pieces to be spliced. In my case, 2x6s, so the overlap is >18" (3*6). Temporary screw the boards together. Draw a triangle centered on the end of the boards, 18" long.

I moved from BC to NS this year and I’ve gotta say the mosquitoes here are dumb:

NS: mosquito lands, instant pinch, swat

BC: look down unawares at your arm to see a mosquito dab its proboscis with a napkin and fly away with two pints of blood

When making rafter birdsmouth cuts, the old adage changes to: "attempt to work out the geometry by hand once, measure once, see if it could work once, redo math once, try again once, cut once, learn how to use speed square on yt once, measure twice, cut once, then trace and cut ten more times"

6. The right tool pays for itself.
7. What you save on cheap materials, you’ll spend in labor.
8. The cleanup is part of the job.
9. Never fight gravity or weather.
10. Start straight so you can finish strong.

Here are the top 10 self-explanatory things I learned about making B2B software while building a shed:

1. Measure twice, cut once.
2. Level and square are everything.
3. Don’t fight the material.
4. Plan from the top down, build from the bottom up.
5. Keep your tools sharp and your mind sharper.

First, I enjoy the app. Second, is it possible to estimate an asteroid's volume given the diameters, because I would like to know how many swimming pools? Third, oh my, the NASA api is so bloated with derivative measurements (one set would do).
