Vance would have asked for new electors instead of certifying 2020 election results Trump’s current running mate said Pence β€œcould have done more.”

🧡
and on Vance someone said they thought he said something treasonous during the campaign.

Surely they cant be talking about this bit on a podcast about certifying the 2020 election because everybody heard that. Everybody talked about it. Anybody got any guesses.

and as an aside this is part of why I like @aoc.bsky.social because she clearly likes the people in her district. I wish more bartenders would run for office.

I’ve been meditating on lots of things including J.d. Vance.

….and before the leap I said I really thought Vance’s book is for those who say things like rural folks vote against their own interests.

And i dont know anybody who votes for candidates that think their constituents are stupid.

I havent read his book, but I know lots of folks really like it. However it feels for me like feel good pablum about rural America for the people who left and didnt come back or for those in Ivory Towers who wonder why rural folks ….

Its possible for a human to have authentic vibes and not feel authentic. This is how I feel our vice president (from a great distance, have never touched him nor eaten with him).

What I learned from Miss Major was persistence and also keeping a sense of humor. I was lucky to see her work in various organizing meetings over the years. She was a model of how to be a good elder. Truly grateful for everything she did to make the world better. Time for the rest of us to continue.

Every Wednesday we’re calling our city council members to demand a baseline of at least %.5 of the city budget be used to fund NYC libraries.

Join us in calling!

Here’s a script with instructions bit.ly/3KM9Eq9 , and you can look up your city council member here : council.nyc.gov/districts/

On solidarity: β€œWe can’t go it alone… I mean, you can try, and get knocked down and get up and try again, and get knocked down and get up and try again. But that’s how it’ll be, until somebody helps you up and says, let me stand with you.”

Rest in Power Miss Major.

I was so fortunate to profile Miss Major for SF Weekly.

From her political education from the leaders of the Attica prison uprising and getting knocked out by a cop at Stonewall to performing in the Jewel Box Revue and founding TGIJP, she led an extraordinary life.

14 of my husband’s employees didn’t show up today. One was detained over the weekend. He spends more time now discussing ICE than he does the business he’s running. Donald Trump has ruined American businesses.

Devastated and undone but celebrating that we got to be on the planet at the same time as our beloved Major.

May we all be as unwavering In the face of fascism as she remained.

The Regime's goal is to grind everyone down. Plain & simple. Our goal is to refuse this by taking turns to fight where and how we can. When one group needs to bow out, then another group needs to step in and so on. We don't all have to do everything. We can all do something though. Stay in the fight

AI industry horrified to face largest copyright class action ever certified Copyright class actions could financially ruin AI industry, trade groups say.

"They've warned that a single lawsuit raised by three authors over Anthropic's AI training now threatens to "financially ruin" the entire AI industry if up to 7 million claimants end up joining the litigation and forcing a settlement."

Good. Let them.
