It’s fair to say, after 16 months, Philippe has flopped. You can have that one for free #Rangers

James used to get β€œTravernier” a lot when he first moved to Scotland from the media but it’s been β€œTaver-near” once they figured it out. It was when I heard you talk about Marcus yesterday I wondered. Do what you like 🀣 You’re damned no matter what

@barryglendenning.bsky.social Morning Barry. Never wanting to be β€œthat” guy, but I’m probably about to be. Marcus Tavernier at Bournemouth and Rangers’ James Tavernier are brothers. But when you talk about James, you call him β€œTravernier.” I heard you pronounce Marcus’ name spot on yesterday

Doing away with the protection of β€œparachuting” into the Europa League and the Conference League adds a degree of jeopardy too which I like. If you’re not good enough, you don’t go any further. It’s a system that actually works well. It’s reinvigorated the competition for me.

Good to see some of the so-called bigger teams haven’t quite found it as easy to negotiate and have to play extra play-off games in order to progress. You can complain about generosity of fixtures and scheduling but you can only beat what’s in front of you.

I’ve always been intrigued by the new Champions League format and I have to say, I like how it’s panned out. Playing eight different opponents gives almost a β€œcup final” feel to each game because you don’t get another leg to turn around any deficit there may be against one team.

I’ve never been a fan of James Corden but I have enjoyed Gavin and Stacey and watched them all through the course of the month leading to last night’s finale, which didn’t disappoint. Sure you knew how it would probably end, but a great finish to a terrific show. Well done πŸ‘
