23.01.2026 01:55 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Even to get to HQ on foot or bike from West River Parkway you have to cross a football field-sized parking lot to get to the front door. Accidental symbolism of their priorities (the previous park board majority, that is)
22.01.2026 18:44 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Do you think sheโs lecturing on how you need to suspend the rules to wear a Support Our Neighbors button
22.01.2026 03:19 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Letโs go!!!!! glad itโs onto the next step!
22.01.2026 03:00 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As I was being tailgated down W. River Parkway by a large SUV with tinted windows, the thought occurred to me that it might help if everyone drives a bit slower. Gives observers more time to identify feds.
We have a 20 MPH speed limit on residential streets, letโs weaponize it
Still plenty of time to contact your Commissioners in support of these ammendments!

Yes!! Love this! Can we write-in comments if we can't attend? If so, when would we need to send them in by?
05.01.2026 21:25 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0honestly a great idea. As cheap as plastic bollards, and probably much more effective
15.12.2025 21:57 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Well, I can understand the lack of bathrooms downtown then. I often launch nukes from the bathroom.
05.12.2025 20:22 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0car covered in snow with banks built up around it from where the plow had to drive around
A lot of people feeling resentful today about snow emergency scofflaws. But you need to remember that never moving your car is the most environmentally friendly way to own a car.
02.12.2025 01:46 โ ๐ 30 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Indeed, the road seems overbuilt - why do they have two-way traffic? Could have cut the budget in half with a one-way!
20.11.2025 18:31 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That stretch of Central near Holy Land/Eastside Food Co-op is IMO the most interesting multi-block walk in Minneapolis. Lots of storefronts close together.

04.11.2025 15:02 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Color me intrigued about muni grocery stores. would the contracts be similar to the park board restaurants (sea salt, pimento) where city owned bldg is leased?
15.10.2025 18:15 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0If there is less than 4' of passable space, an ADA grievance should be filed

19.09.2025 21:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Use this as proof that 8' narrow lanes work well for drivers! So well, drivers will go out of their way to enjoy the narrowness!
19.09.2025 21:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Allan Klugman is possibly the most honest person i have ever met
19.09.2025 21:34 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0(i get that maintenance is needed to keep structures safe, but we can do that in the short-term while looking for ways to phase out any excessive parking in the long-term)
16.09.2025 15:01 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I appreciate Cashman pushing back here and too bad it seems like the council is just a rubber stamp authority. How do we express support for what sheโs asking?
16.09.2025 14:17 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0No no no! why are they investing in maintenance on parking structures!? They should be spending that money on tearing them down or making street level improvements. Not investing in something that ruins pedestrian experience
16.09.2025 14:15 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I too was confused about the lake's one-ways when I moved here. To go counterflow you're supposed to bike in the road I guess. Feels weird when there's a bikelane right there, but I guess that's the best we got.
09.09.2025 19:36 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Transit is also less effective probably due to lack of land constraints (360ยฐ sprawl) and low density. And the highways enable drivers to go an avg of 60mph in any direction for any amount of time even in the heart of the cities. (Soap box: the freeways in the cities need to go!) betterthan94.org
09.09.2025 19:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0These posts are ๐ฏ! I enjoyed reading an outsider's thoughts, love that you found great art. As for transit, bike-to-bus works great for me but otherwise, transfers add up and it's not competitive w/ driving. Not that transit's slow--driving is just SO much faster due to all the grade separated hwys.
09.09.2025 19:31 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Counterpoint: what if we organize a bike swarm to support the restaurant? Show the owner how wrong they are, and bring them along so more people can understand the benefits & joys of bike friendly businesses.
08.09.2025 19:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0When a street is congested (with cars), it's labeled a "failure" by traffic engineers. But a busy sidewalk, bike lane, or bus is a "success". Why?
03.09.2025 17:15 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Some suburbs already have pockets of dense mixed use - West End in SLP is an example. So clearly there is an appetite for it even in the suburbs!
03.09.2025 17:13 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I'm a bike to bus commuter (and I drive/carpool) so I can say that the delay from downtown Mpls to downtown St Paul is typically less than 7 minutes (not bad at all). At peak rush hour ~10 minutesโ delay, also really reasonable. Even with detours, the 94 bus is so much more relaxing than driving!
