A dark music venue with black walls is lit with ring lights that cast an orange glow across a wood floor that's lined with red vinyl booths. In the center of the ceiling is a large disco ball, and mounted on the wall is a neon sign that says "The Cut" inside a circle. The XO Ruby logo appears in the bottom left, with the address and name of The Cut ATX called out in orange text.

if its a well-known stack, having it bootstrap the project is a real nice quick win

makefile, dockerfile, github actions, etc all come out mostly ok with a little editing after the fact

In your opinion, what are the surprising advantages of attending a conference in-person that people might not realize until they’ve actually gone?

25.08.2025 15:52 β€” πŸ‘ 10    πŸ” 9    πŸ’¬ 10    πŸ“Œ 1

also, hugs - i've gotten some of the best hugs in my life from old friends at conferences ❀️

talk talks are a big one for me

every tech talk has to leave some details out and its great to be able to go deeper into the topic with either the speaker or other attendees that have experience - that's really hard to do when you're just watching the video

This sounded like a good idea in my head. πŸ˜…

I'm driving 7500 miles in the months of September and October bringing people together for single-day, single-track Ruby conferences.

If I'm coming to a city near you I'd love to catch up!
