I haven’t been on here in months, but I figured I should update my bio since I’ve been a deacon (transitional) for a few weeks now.

Thank you! I never really expected to be any good, but producers keep asking me to do their shows, so I must be doing something right!

I started in May of 2024 and now I’ve done 21 shows with 5 more coming up between now & March 11

And I said I wasn’t sure if it was ready, but she told me to “just pick a date & sign up. Obsess over it until that day, and then just do it.” I listened to her, was surprisingly good at it, and the rest is history 2/2

As to how I got started, I was going to a lot of shows and wound up writing some few jokes in a notes app on my phone, and then one night I was on the metro home from an open mic & chatting with a comic when she basically just asked when I was going to try it myself 1/2

Any time you’re in Montreal I’d love to have you! (Or if I ever get to achieve my dream of performing a show in NYC…)

It’s an oversimplification, but it’s pithy, funny, & has a surprising number of people wanting to learn more about it after my shows 😂 (though that might also have something to do with the trans Christian jokes I tell about getting top surgery for Lent & wardrobe malfunctions in front of my priest)

In my comedy shows, I have to rapidly explain Anglicanism to people who barely know what a Protestant is, so I go with “kind of like a popeless Catholic without all the sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and mandatory celibacy for clergy”.

Oh god same.

if you’re cis, don’t offer trans people meaningless platitudes. instead:
- pay for someone’s HRT
- help a trans person find employment and housing
- donate to local trans organizations
- contact your reps and demand non-compliance with policies targeting trans people
- *listen* to us
