Giving the stream of Zoomer Radio from Toronto a listen this morning, and the morning hosts report Breaking News of the death of Robert Redford around 1236UTC. I was hearing Zoomer earlier this morning (pre-dawn in AR) OTA on AM 740 mixing with Con-Talkers KRMG 740 Tulsa (OK) and KTRH 740 Houston.

Giving BBC World Service radio, the old fashioned way--via shortwave, a listen. The 12095KHz transmission via Madagascar is listenable on a home SDR connected to a large magnetic loop receive-only antenna at 0457UTC 16 September 2025 (11:57pm CDT 15 Sept. 2025 Arkansas time).

Not 2 minutes into monitoring "AM Radio", stumbled across anti-trans banter from Michael Berry at KTRH 740KHz Houston TX. Mixing with another reichwing station, KRMG 740 Tulsa OK.

It'll be easier to get as sunset times get earlier. But during the peak of winter, the net starts about an hour earlier. Someone also operates something that interferes during part of the net, so rx on 75m that close here is hit and miss and mostly mix of ground/skywave.

I listened to that net for years before getting my General class ticket, then checked in occasionally in the early 2000's before moving, life changes, and occasionally checked in until the early 2010s. Also the behavior of some hams after Hurricane Katrina exposed the virtue signaling PR.

Give a listen to the Arkansas Razorback Net (6:30pm Central time) and/or the Arkansas Phone Net 6:00am CT on 3987.5 KHz LSB. That "prayer" and preamble didn't start until the start of Obama's Presidency. Also the pre-net banter (about a half hour or so before) is telling.
