Dems should be hammering this stuff the way the Right did with Solyndra. I want to hear Doodie Calls on the floor of the House.

I say this as someone who loves technology but hates the tech industry - why do we have to love technology? why do we have to give something like AI clemency for its errors? It's a product we are being sold, it should have to earn our money or attention.

The left tried for decades to pass green energy subsidies, passed them, the subsidies worked, and now literally the entire planet's electricity grid is going to convert to solar+battery. It just doesn't feel like "tech" because it mostly produces kinda boring blue collar jobs instead of billionaires

We’re ruled by people who are trying to cure mortality for themselves while ensuring that death doesn’t stop the rest of us from being content farms.

If Republicans are going to shred our laws and constitution to do whatever they want, Dems are going to at least need to start exercising their power to do the obvious right things. Post Trump, hiding behind a vague notion of what norms will allow won't save you.

Hell, the word America comes from an Italian name. We didn't invent anything out of whole cloth.

Apple pie is a foreign creation from multiple cultures using a fruit non-native to America. Blue Jeans were created and patented by two Jewish immigrants. Rock n' Roll derived from black cultural influences. American culture is about fusion. That is, and has always been, its strength. 2/2

To add to the many great points of why this is absurd, stupid and racist. What is American culture? For years it was embodied by 3 things: Apple pie, blue jeans and rock n' roll. 1/

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

Sort of gives away the lie that they're arresting hardened criminals who are drags on society when they're setting up traps to lure in Good Samaritans

The secret fear of the morally depraved is that virtue is actually common, and that they're the ones who are alone. In Minnesota, all of the ideological cornerstones of MAGA have been proved false at once. Minnesotans, not the armed thugs of ICE and the Border Patrol, are brave. Minnesotans have shown that their community is socially cohesivebecause of its diversity and not in spite of it. Minnesotans have found and loved one another in a world atomized by social media, where empty men have tried to fill their lonely soul with lies about their own inherent superiority. Minnesotans have preserved everything worthwhile about "Western civilization," while armed brutes try to tear it down by force.

As @bitterscriptreader.bsky.social will attest, I have been shouting from the rooftops about the lack of Previouslys, which is particularly frustrating between long seasons and on streaming where there's no time constraints. Make it 5 minutes long, we won't be angry to be reminded of too much.

14.02.2026 06:40 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Absolutely. My trick is to try to hide as much exposition in an argument as possible. People seem less stupid when they are weaponizing it.

14.02.2026 05:43 β€” πŸ‘ 11    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

It creates this attention death spiral where shows need exposition because viewers don’t pay attention so viewers stop paying attention because shows have too much exposition.

14.02.2026 05:04 β€” πŸ‘ 81    πŸ” 14    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

There are some shows I have given up on because of the constant constant re-stating of exposition. Exposition is a thing that is definitely needed in normal amounts. The amounts being demanded right now by executives at some streamers is excessive & annoying & has killed my interest in some shows

This is a tax on you.

You paid $1,000 more in a tax because of Trump.

That would seem like an argument for them not needing to advertise at all. I'd flip it and say anybody that can afford to put an ad on the Super Bowl can afford to make one with real people that doesn't harm their brand.

09.02.2026 01:14 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Even if people don't specifically boycott companies that use AI in their ads, the whole point of branding is how you get an emotion to attach to a corporation, and do they really want "Ick" to be that emotion?

09.02.2026 01:08 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

In the old days I'd watch the Super Bowl for the ads if not for the game, but even the ads aren't worth it now. If I wanted to sit through an AI slopfest I'd still be on Facebook.
