I know he was an actor and a sports commentator. You would expect competence in front of a microphone. But Reagan sounded really good. He explained the action, the reasoning behind it, the context. He didn't boast or say "tremendous" or "fantastic job" or "like we've never seen".

I don't like purity tests and I believe that the DNC needs to be a broad church. But Fetterman is contemptible. Put it this way - if he was kicked out, who would employ him? Where are the positives? Quite apart from the disloyalty.

This one gives the impression he's trying to make. Note the haircut. "You will answer my questions now, or you will answer them in a short while. The choice is yours".

Bovino is a man who saw old movies about the Resistance in occupied Europe, who saw the sinister SS figures, and the Gestapo in their black coats, and thought "I want to be like THOSE guys!".

If it was heard on a recording, I don't think it would have attracted so much attention. People are getting dazzled more by the stagecraft. Clapton's original, or Harrison's own solo on "Something", say... those were great solos.

Honestly.. I didn't know it was possible. I wouldn't have liked to have been on one of the ships where this was first attempted.

A hot mike video of Trump talking to Fox said it all to me. Trump was talking re Kim Jong Un (below). "MY people". MY military. MY White House. He is obsessed with owning and he thinks he owns all of us. He is now clearly acquiring a taste for killing. He's getting worse.

The occasion was George Harrison's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He'd died 3 years earlier. The other musicians were friends of George, and of course his son was there. The rendition was faithful to the original. and a homage.

The R Reagan Foundation may or may not have a legitimate gripe about not having been asked permission. That could have been resolved with a polite discreet note. But Reagan's views on tariffs were not distorted. The RRF thus failed in its one reason for existence. Reagan would be disgusted.

What I like about the original is that Clapton was conscious of being with the Great Ones, and knew that Harrison was kind of pushing the boundaries by inviting him in. And that all got into Clapton's bloodstream, and he put together one of the great guitar parts.

What Prince does is exciting, and very good. But when I see this I think everyone else is paying tribute to a song, to a moment, to an old friend, to a dad. Prince is showing he's better that the others.

This is overdue. Even I could see this pattern a long time ago. It's particularly insufferable when it's about a news item that ANY news-conscious individual is aware of, but he lies that "this is the first I've heard about it".

It's such a short speech, and its tone is very clear. Tariffs are to be avoided, except for a short term and for a specific purpose. Tariffs are otherwise very damaging.
I'm not surprised by Trump because he's a lying moron. But the Ronald Reagan Foundation should be ashamed.

I saw that clip. The way he talked to the reporter who asked the question was offensive, disgusting. It's a tragedy we've got used to it. Our sensibilities have been sandpapered into a different shape.

It's not a rare or an ancient building. But it's the kind of building that makes a neighborhood what it is. The sort that needs to be treasured.

Well it's a similar situation of course. GOPers see nothing but shame and embarrassment if they attend, so they won't. (For J6 two GOP members broke ranks but..).If they were FORCED to attend, then they will do the usual bomb-throwing and shouting.
But it is better that the DNC tries to play fair.

Would surely be better to do so within the halls of Congress, and with a panel of lawyers moderating (or at least controlling the time for each questioner). And of course with a public and pointed invitation to ALL of the House Judiciary Committee to take part.

I guess that will be Plan B.
