themselves and their peers. And they would have the language and knowledge to lift each other up and support one another.

The fact they choose the opposite is evidence enough for me that it's not about protecting children, but controlling them. And that my friends will never fly with me.

No child should be made to feel unsafe or isolated because they don't fit some archaic predetermined set of rules that frankly no one fits into.

If the right wing truly wants to protect children they would increase education and representation so that all children would grow up understanding...

I am one of the lucky ones as well, both my parents were always supportive of LGBTQIA+ folks and other marginalized folks. So at least I had a safe space I could retreat to and not be made to feel wrong for just being myself.

So when wesay "protect LGBTQIA+ kids" this is what many of us remember...

help me and other LGBTQIA+ children develop a healthy and safe understanding of who they were. Let alone present us as a fact of life and help other children accept us for who we were.

Most of my school career I was out of place l, picked on and even physically attacked for being different...
