I was playing an very serious Wizard character, but discovered after 1 session that everyone else was playing very silly or light hearted characters. They adopted a Goblin named Pojo in the 1st session so I sent my Wizard off on their own agenda & became, "Pojo, the true hero of this story!" #dnd

Absolutely! This also gives the added advantage of giving the players something concrete to look forwards to immediately in the next session.

I hit 1000+ hours in Baldur's Gate 3 last night. Lots of multiplayer but I've still only finished the game twice. Almost finished my third playthrough as The Dark Urge. #BG3

Always! I'll end a session generally 1 of 2 ways. Either a big cliff hanger with them realising how much trouble they're in or with them beginning the next leg of their journey & telling me which way they're going so I can prep that path better for the next session. #dnd

I decided my level 12 Feat was going to be Heavy Armor Master & combining that with The Helldusk Armour for -6 damage from all sources. Combining that with the level 11 Hunter Whirlwind attack & the Sword of Chaos for lots of self-healing, this will be very close to bringing FireCore to life. ❤️‍🔥

With 7 Resistances, Enhance Leap & at level 4 the Athlete Feat; I feel that I get the essence of the character. At level 8 I took Great Weapon Master to really lean into the big-sword-energy. I really want to finish it off with more resiliency. I set my eyes upon a specific set of armour. Raphael's.

Ranger gets the option of resistance to Cold, Fire and Poison of which I took all 3. I also get 3rd level spells which give me Protection from Energy so I can resist other elements as needed. Because I'm using Strength Elixirs & the Gloves of Dexterity my Con is my primary stat for Concentration.

Originally I was playing as an Eagle Barbarian for the Rage resistances, its very aesthetically pleasing & thematically appropriate Leap Attack. But I found it a bit meh mechanically, especially with our healer giving Blade Ward whenever they want making Rage a bit redundant. I respecced to Ranger.

FireCore in the Shadow Cursed Lands

I've come up with a really cool #BG3 build I'm currently looking to try out. Currently still in Act II but have come up with the plan for the rest of the run. The build is for my character FireCore, who pre-dates my #TTRPG days. He's known for two things. His massive leap attack & his resiliency!

The Netrunning section is definitely an area to avoid if its your first time. If you wanna just take it for a spin, go straight to page 34 with a character sheet ready & do the Life Path part. Slowly watch your character come to life before you even pick your skills or gear.

Might I recommend Cyberpunk 2020? It does such a better job of making your punk feel unique & encouraging you to be yourself than Cyberpunk RED. RED is spectacular as a, "So, you liked D&D & want to try other systems" gateway, but 2020 really got a lot of the stuff right years ago.

D&D has a lovely way to resolve danger. "Roll Initiative". If the character wishes to use their action to make a History roll while dodging arrows, that's their decision. I wouldn't consider this phenomenon 'derailing' the dungeon crawl though. The environment & history are PART of the dungeon.

Little over 2000 points of Ultramarines done! I painted the Executioner last night, I can provide close ups of the final if people would like.

Really happy that I followed through, I'll be posting some battle reports too.

I did in #Cyberpunk2020 once. The hotel believed itself to be haunted & that its resident ghost had killed them. Turns out an assassin had orchestrated for them to be in a specific room & hacked the ventilation system to filter in a gas, then filtered it back out again.

Rules Lawyer Switch: Experience is handed out immediately after the encounter. I will not be waiting for the end of the session.
