A cricket was chirping inside my Manhattan apartment all fucking night. One fucking cricket. One impossibly loud fucking cricket. By 3 am, I was full Walter White vs the fly.

I was so fortunate attend the closing performance of Free Shakespeare in the Park's TWELFTH NIGHT on Sunday at the revitalized Delacorte. Sensational theater, freely shared, and a testament to the importance of public arts in NYC.

Still rowing away on my virtual journey from John O’Groats to Lands End. When I’m not on the road, I do about 10km a day on my rowing machine. Yesterday I reached Inverness. That’s 267km—166 miles or 20% of the full route. On to Glasgow.

I’ve wanted to learn to sail for decades, but I’m so glad I waited until New York Harbor was my home port.

I’m more of a Gilbert and Sullivan sort of pirate than the historical reality. Less pillaging, more show tunes.

Apparently I take up a new crazy activity every five years. Ten years ago I started sword fighting, five years ago I started ninja training, and today I took my first sailing lesson.

I also seem to be training as an accidental pirate.

I’m so excited to jump into rehearsals with this amazing team in August!

I enjoy my rowing machine more when I imagine myself traveling somewhere. It took my old ass 15 sessions to row the 50-mile perimeter of Loch Ness, a virtual trek I finished yesterday.

Today, I leave John O’Groats on the 874-mile journey to Lands End. Trying to arrive by March 9th—my next birthday.

I stand by my bloot.

It should be reblooted.
