There is a cafe across the street from one of the schools I work at. I cannot go there to order a coffee, because, guaranteed, I will walk out with their garlic bread grilled cheese and chunky tomato soup for lunch.

Slowly finding all of my favorite Twitter peeps is like opening the doors on an advent calendar. 🥰

Living in a border city (Wa State), I have an acquaintance who has had kids taken from her school (during previous administration). They have no problem overstepping rules they know they won’t be punished for. My heart is aching for my refugee kiddos. Who knows what is in store for them, too.

In this household there is no celebrating of a man’s death, but you will find indifference and probably some tactless memes. The $50,000 bounty because the deceased was a CEO shows that the system is meant to work only for the “big guys” and silence the weak and vulnerable. #EduSky

I am the sole provider for my family. My husband, who is estranged from us, does not provide a cent. If I, with a career that requires higher education, can barely afford to care for my family, when do we admit that we are failing our future generations with a system essentially meant to oppress.

With a balanced calendar being implemented next year, I will no longer have my summer income. A balanced calendar is much better for student achievement but not better on their adults (childcare) and those of us who NEED to hold a summer job in order to just scrape by... #EduSky

Can we also talk about the multiple jobs teachers hold in order to “afford” paying for healthcare? I have two jobs, I need to find another one, just to afford my house payment, groceries, and gas to travel to work. Health insurance and other deductions take away 1/3 of my paychecks. And… #EduSky
