I have to admit, I don't think I've seen that before.

Hadn't heard of this painting!

That's from Brooklyn 9-9.

Some years back, there was an exhibition of his collection (and some of the costumes from his films) in Toronto. The Wrightson pics were in it. My partner and I crossed the Atlantic to see it. Completely worth it.

@realgdt.bsky.social owns some of the originals of the Wrightson artwork.

Tom's Dad stories are reliably excellent, and this one comes with added amphibian.

There should be a button on the tummy somewhere. Wear gloves.

There was no sex involved with Edward's creation - it could be a comment on that. Or maybe Tim Burton's just weird about sex.

Watching Edward Scissorhands right now, and the thing that's really sticking out for me is how terrified this film is of sex.

They came last in Caerphilly last year, and yesterday was the first time they'd stood for the Sennedd there - they only got 500-odd votes, which is down on the general. Likely lost some votes to keep-out-reform tactics.

The coverage was pretty ambiguous - I did have to check!

I'm not arguing with this poster's conclusion because it's obviously right, but this "over a century" point has been bugging me since yesterday. This was a Sennedd election, and the Sennedd was formed in 1998. Labour hasn't lost the parliamentary seat. Based on yesterday, it probably would.

...and then they elected him as President.

Thanks for digging that out. I was intrigued, as I know that bit of coast quite well and have been in that church (although not seen the plaque).

Farage’s big weakness, as I’ve often written, is that 60%+ of voters don’t want him to become Prime Minister.

For a populist he’s not that popular. www.newstatesman.com/politics/mor...

@thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social is getting close, and some of the folks who have asked us to act as a shipping address for the books they're bringing Thought Bubble have started sending us stuff. So far so good! But it's not too late - if you're exhibiting at TBubs and we can help, just message us!

Sharia courts rule on religious disputes. What "basic British values" does Racist Bob think that violates?
