I spoke to Oot Scotland about why despite the abuse I receive as a trans woman of colour in politics, hope must ALWAYS win 💚

A year ago today I fought for my local community, achieving the second best @scottishgreens.org Westminster result in history 💚

And I wouldn’t change it for the world, we’ll keep fighting for that better world, no matter how much the government tries to push us down ‼️

5 years ago today I was referred to a gender identity clinic.

I am still waiting to be seen.

Odds are - I won’t be seen for another 10 years. Vital healthcare is being withheld from myself and thousands of others and the establishment does not care.

How do we even fight that?

We deserves change. Glasgow deserves change.

I’ve certainly got a good feeling about this one 👀

The disability cuts by the UK government are shameful, forcing 400,000 into poverty.

We deserve better than this 💚

But they will dictate how our new economy works in the most immediate decade after independence

I’m not disputing that. We are part of the United kingdom and thus we are part of it?

But to put forward a stringent plan at Thais tags would be ridiculous as it would hinge on the terms of independence in the first place

We are the plan to replace them. The idea that Scotland is reliant on England to exist is a lie.

Yes things will change, that’s kind of the point of elections.

Well yes states come in all shapes and sizes, that I agree with.

Which we’d replace with our own schemes? 97.6% of our energy is already renewable generated? The state would not simply cease to exist just because it’s not being controlled by London

Because half of the stuff we can do it devolved to UK gov. We have 60% of the waters (which just isn’t counted at all cos it’s UK wide) and a massive chunk of the energy infrastructure, those two alone make us competitive on the international stage.

Well yes, because the money going into creating the block grant from Scotland would be collected directly by the government.

We’re not already sovereign and we’re not subsidised by England - we have booming industries which we’d easily leverage.
