Under the current law, people who are pregnant in Scotland have no legal right to end a pregnancy and this needs to change. We're supporting 'Let’s change the Act', Scotland’s campaign to decriminalise abortion and reform the Abortion Act 1967 - please join us!

Who's benefiting fom ScotWind? 'Most of the profits are going out of the country' The Herald investigates how Scotland’s ScotWind leasing deal echoes past mistakes — selling off the nation’s energy wealth to overseas…

“A pure net zero approach could see us undertake decarbonisation while actually exacerbating the inequalities we face today.”

It was a pleasure speaking to @vickyallan.bsky.social at The Herald about our new report on Scotland’s offshore wind:

Today, I'm announcing that I have joined the currently named Your Party, and I'm resigning my membership, and therefore Scottish Parliamentary candidacy, of the Scottish Green Party.

My reasons for leaving the Greens are many in number, but fundamentally I have joined Your Party because I recognise that the future of our country is at stake, and this new project is the only vehicle which can keep Nigel Farage out of 10 Downing Street and build a socialist, independent Scotland.

None of the existing Holyrood parties can be taken seriously when it comes to the fight against austerity; every single one of them is complicit in passing on brutal cuts to public services and making the lives of the working classes worse.

Your Party can be a huge mass movement which can take on the far right in our communities, our neighbourhoods, our workplaces. I'm excited to get stuck in, and although this move means I won't be standing for Holyrood next May, I'm excited to get campaigning to elect Your Party MSPs, MPs and councillors who will stand up for the working class.

I'm so grateful to everyone who supported me during my time in the Greens, and my message to each and every one of you is simple: join me. I'm thrilled to be joining Your Party at the same time as three fantastic councillors in Dan, Leòdhas and Seonad, as well as countless activists who like me, recognise the huge potential this new party holds. Dan, Leòdhas and Seonad will keep fighting for their communities within the city chambers, and I can't wait to keep on supporting them.

In solidarity,
Ellie

I like my other former Green colleagues are fed up of the abandonment of whole communities. I have joined Your Party because I am tired of lending our power to politicians who don’t answer to us. We have the power to fight back with a new politics, I want to be part of a movement, not a slogan.

UK close to giving Israel's Elbit £2bn contract to train British soldiers Elbit, which was the primary target of Palestine Action's activism, is close to winning a contract that would allow it to train 60,000 troops per year, according to Private Eye

Labour's complicity in the genocide of Palestinians continues, it seems. Even if Elbit isn't the final winner, how could Labour think it appropriate to even entertain the idea.

Sandie Peggie's homophobia and racism is not an outlier of the gender critical movement. It's a fundamental part of it, and the reason that anti-trans links to the far-right are constantly being exposed.

Prominent Greens member rules out running for leadership due to 'toxic culture' A prominent Scottish Greens member has ruled out standing in the leadership contest due to the "toxic" culture within the party ...

I'm not running to be Co-leader of the Scottish Greens.

I'll keep fighting for people & planet but we need to tackle the cultural issues inside our house first.

Members have asked for a cultural review, & I hope leadership candidates make sure it happens.

After the Sandie Peggie tribunal I’m looking forward to the Scottish media covering all employment tribunals with such intensity. At last we’ll get in-depth reporting on workers rights, low pay & unfair dismissal

Unless of course there’s some other reason for the obsession. What could it be though?

For the second year in a row the No Pride in Genocide bloc was by far the biggest group at Glasgow Pride.

Glasgow's Queer community rejects corporate pinkwashing 'pride ltd.' and instead stands in solidarity with Palestinians and all people whose human rights and lives are on the line.

It feels like everyone I talk to has had issues getting hold of their Labour MP across the whole of Glasgow.

It's been bitterly disappointing to not have vocal fighters this city needs - and Glaswegians are wise enough to not let more of these chancers in next year ✊️💚

McSweeney’s Death Rattle In a media landscape where nuanced political breakthroughs are often credited to ‘genius Svengalis’, spin doctor Morgan McSweeney has become the crown prince of Starmerism. But now his fragile empire…

Core to McSweeneyism is the belief that ‘The Voter is never wrong’. Yet for a man so intent on listening to the public, McSweeney in fact seems to have selective hearing.

Angus Satow on Morgan McSweeney's manicured rise to power and his current fall from grace as Labour wunderkind.

How arms firms are buying exclusive access to MPs for as little as £1499 AT WESTMINSTER, arms firms – including those who have sold weapons to Israel – are currently enjoying a lobbying blitz ...

Seems my Labour MP Gordon McKee - who voted to proscribe Palestine Action - is working with the defense firms involved in supplying the genocide.

'An Israel-first approach': Inside the BBC’s Gaza coverage A senior BBC journalist talks to The National about the broadcaster's coverage of Israel's assault on Gaza.

We spoke to a senior journalist at the BBC World Service to find out how staff feel about coverage of Gaza/Israel

They say the BBC works on an "Israel-first" basis with bosses "constantly buckling to political pressure"

Today the order banning #PalestineAction as "terrorists" came into effect. But they are not terrorists. They are protesters trying to stop a genocide. This is a "first they came for ..." situation. Unless we stand in solidarity against this assault on our freedom, they will pick us off one by one.
