I think about that often.

my favorite kitsuke that i have done. Except for the (improvised) netzuke and the juban, all the items were purchased in the basement at Nakano Broadway.
This is a story of a massive Trump cover up but itβs also a story about total elite impunity, how the wealthy and powerful operate with a set of rules totally unrecognizable to the rest of us

Here's the 2026 playbook: federalize troops near polling places; send the DOJ to investigate "fraud" before all the votes are counted; send the Marines to seize voting machines; make sure the House GOP refuses to seat Democrats who win.

As Chapter 2 ends, Williams tells us we must break the spell of technosolutionism, and they will do so building upon Abiba Birhane's Relational Ethics approach to Algorithmic Justice.
Looking forward to Chapter 3! Back after a break (maybe an hour, maybe a day, we'll see!)
Okay unlike the last two chapters where I was posting while I was reading, I've read all of chapter 3 and will post my takeaways in a single bundle (and then pause for the day for sure, this was a lot to chew on).
Chapter 3 is titled "The Broken Promises of AI in Everyday Life"
LLMs by their design cannot function as search engines and cannot cite their sources because they don't do any analysis or synthesis.
"LLMs can only produce an amalgamation of a response that takes the form of text. They create a generic imprint of a response that appears coherent" (Williams, p34)
A hand holds a book called "Disabling Intelligences: Legacies of Eugenics and How We are Wrong about Al" by Rua M. Williams. The cover is burgundy with orange leaves, and behind the book is a blanket with similar colors.
This will be my thread for thoughts while reading Disabling Intelligences by @fractalecho.bsky.social this week.
I'm all wrapped up in a fleece blanket, I have my highlighter and page flags, and on page 2 I'm already love their writing style.
