I get the knee jerk desire to just label it all AI and evil but the issues with genAI, LLM and computer vision abuse are to a really significant extent issues with runaway capital, governments seeming an to get on board with oppressive business models and a gold rush to eliminate the working class.

I'm a leftist with a PhD in machine learning and I *am* excited about LLMs, which are good at some things and can even be the most efficient way to do a thing! They are also being used poorly and for evil.

With the combo of massive hype and doom-mongering it's very difficult to talk about properly.

I think the B is the next target in the UK. This EHRC guidance of "lesbian-only" spaces excluding trans women, the SC judgement of what a lesbian is, they are "protecting" cis monosexuality only (for now, I'm sure they'll be after the L and the G eventually).

How are you supposed to get a gender recognition certificate, which requires you to have lived in your acquired gender, now the Supreme Court has said you are not allowed to live in your acquired gender?

Legally it shouldn't mean THAT from the supreme court judgement alone, but when you have terfs at the top of every relevant public body, it means whatever they want it to mean.
