A comic about Karl Poppers paradox of tolerance using nazis as an example. If we extend tolerance to the intolerant, the tolerant will eventually cease to exist.
Karl Poppers paradox of tolerance needs to be spread far and wide. Unfortunately, we may be too late. I really hope we arenโt.

Nine reduced rhyolites erupted in quick succession in the Mono Basin (Eastern California, just north of the Long Valley Caldera) ~6,000 years ago!

US volcanoes pose a very real threat to communities and aircraft. Cutting funds will significantly compromise our ability monitor them and mitigate disaster. Why this administration wants us flying blind in volcano territory is an utter mystery. This is not a FAFO situation.

I am not a federal employee, but many of my colleagues are. The work they do to better understand + inform the public on volcanic hazards is deeply important. We are a team. The attacks on education and NSF harms our shared mission. There is no public sector equivalent for the operational work we do
