A female human pirate. Short blonde hair, blue eyes, dark makeup. Skin fried pink and red: a sailor's life. She's visibly MAD. Biting at an arrow by the shaft. The wall behind her is pierced by various other arrows, barely missing her. She wields two handaxes and they're ready to go. Around her, we see half a dozen scimitars, wielded by others off-camera. It's anyone's battle.

A civil difference in opinion.

the mr incredible meme. on the left, an upstanding, confident looking man with a goodly grin. on the right, the same image, but compressedd, devoid of color, distorted and reduced to a hellish incarnation of itself - the smile is gone.

Sviterian architecture resembles tumors of dark, red metal, while most technology is half-living and parasitoid in appearance. A recently annexed village begins to exhibit small metallic protuberances and cable-like venules within the week, until it is completely overcome within the year. These all comprise what is largely referred to as the Plexus: a chaotic, evergrowing network of arcane functionoids, essential for the Empire to operate at a basic level, relying on draconic offal as fuel. The Sviterian capital, Eramos, is completely overrun by the Plexus, to the point it must import drinking water from Imperial outskirts; its air now a thick, purple haze of arcane smog.

Holy Shadows
YouTube video by Edguy - Topic Holy Shadows

Currently blasting this classic. This (with Avantasia's first 2 albums) is like the gold nugget of power metal to me. Very cheesy, full of heart.

Like, "dude. You're doing art for D&D. Blast that fuckin power metal Edguy shit and think of how you used to feel about these things!"

It's very humbling & real. Also think a lot of my older brother who introduced me to heavy metal, D&D, Neverwinter Nights, and all the cool shit. Love him.

Sometimes when I'm demotivated with commission work, I'll listen to songs teen Matheus would listen to while browsing his older brothers' AD&D 2e books and daydreaming of all the art in there. It's a way to kinda slap myself in the face and remind me how proud my kid self would be at who I am today.

Play and discuss as if you were friends trying to get to know each other better, rather than as if you were rival squawking merchants trying to sell competing goods in a marketplace. The world is full of friends and potential friends, and it's much lonelier and more frightening when it isn't.

Two Carverine (orc-like humanoids), a male and a female, ride alongside eachother, on top of war hippos. They hold each other's arms. With the other hand, the female orc displays a freshly decapitated head - the enemy king. While the male lifts his axe up in prideful show. Both orcs have red hair and pinkish-gray skin, similar to the hippos they ride upon. The carverine have long, elephant like tusks, and wear minimal bronze armor.

a picture of a tiny gnome, elderly and wrinkly, reading an old tattered scroll. long black nails, giant pearl earrings, a lit pipe with cyan smoke, eyes half shut, as if dozing off. the most impressive feature is her hat: a goldfish-orange lizard, mouth-first fitted on top of her head. looks quite snug (if not for the sharp teeth!)

some gnomes are a little bit more imaginative with their hats.

With all the Gem Dragons I did for Dungeons & Dragons The Book of Dragons, the crystal dragon probably had the strongest foundation to build from so I really made a meal out of painting the skin folds.

This is dragon 4 of 5

a two page spread of OMIOS URES - my tabletop RPG.

on the left, a drawing of a gnome in a wizardly outfit, holding a lit candle - the gnome is half colored, half sketched. The gnome has blue nails, pointy shoes and an art nouveau walking stick. above him is in the text "GNOMOS" in an orange, art nouveau font.

to the right bottom corner is the gnome from the OP here. the text on the page reads:

Athousand years ago, a flying citadel soared over the continents, peering curiously at the ancient realms below. The city was a perfect utopia, home of no evil nor ill; the motherland of all gnomes. Great knowledge was bestowed upon what cultures dotted the land, but it did not take long until the surfacers found better use for their magical gifts.

Appalled by all the violence and death following their patronage, the Citadel signaled all of those still aground to return at once. But not all gnomes heeded the call – and ever since its departure, the Motherland’s whereabouts remain a mystery.

Old Spirit

Gnomes are tiny humanoids, always elderly in appearance because all living gnomes are well over a hundred years old. Men usually sport facial hair; mustaches or full beards; oftentimes kept as long as their own bodies.

A Ward for Delirium

While their utopic homeland was exempt of malady, years of exposure to the earthen realms saw countless Gnomes slowly and inevitably succumbing to a disease once thought extinct – Goblinism – mutating into pustulent, rabid and ungovernable versions of themselves.

In order to prevent the β€œturn”, Gnomes have since developed runic headwear; warding talismans that keep the disease at bay indefinitely, as long as the hat is worn by its owner.

(...) All must contain a lengthy sequence of runes within their liner, often resulting in a hat as tall as its wearer.
