fwiw, @rushanaraalibgs.bsky.social had always been good at responding to housing issues in TH, wrote supportive letters and spoke up re. tenants issues. i guess this is why she was appointed housing minister. but there is a micro landlordism inside us all, and it needs to be kept in check.

please lean on greenwich to get the basic infrastructure (foot tunnel lifts) working @london.gov.uk . there are no nearby suitable alternative pedestrain crossings for wheelchairs, pushchairs and bikes. if this were a vehicular crossing, it would be out of action for half a day

i once interviewed a guy who recalled his youthful objections to the odour of italian restaurants in mid-century london (garlic!). he married an italian woman in the end.

the smell in this little haggerston glade is amazing. ripe plums and wildflower blossoms. if radox herbal essences did urban planning, we’d have a lot more of this.

he also rampaged through a chicken coup with a flame thrower. but his first ever job was in an abattoir so it kind of tracks.

i know! it’s all in here. for what it’s worth, he seems to regret being cruel to animals. there’s a great early sabbath story about him routinely going to the pub on horseback because the horse would be able to carry him home when he was passed out and slung over the saddle.
