I'm so sorry π’
10.06.2025 01:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I haven't been posting much...feeling depressed and retreating into hanging out with my kitties for the most part. Here's some more of my art - 'The Artist', 16 x 22", Pastel, Carbon, Charcoal and Conte on Stonehenge. I finished this one in the spring of 2023. What do you guys think?
03.06.2025 22:17 β π 5 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0I'm in my early-mid fifties, so I remember flying as a little kid in the late 70s. It was an occasion, and you were expected to dress up a bit!
30.05.2025 17:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That was the year my Grandad was born. What a beautiful photo!
29.05.2025 22:52 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Beautiful photo! And I know what you mean about getting out super early for walks! One of life's true pleasures!
02.05.2025 12:47 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you! π
05.04.2025 13:09 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is a great idea!
05.03.2025 16:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Not to mention, it's morally wrong. If we can't afford to make sure every kid is fed, people have a roof of their heads and have access to healthcare, then we can't afford billionaires.
03.03.2025 12:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I disagree about the billionaires. This is the reason that we are in the mess we're in - Musk can fund a primary against any politician that doesn't fall into line. If we want to save democracy (and capitalism for what it's worth), a 100% tax on wealth above 1bn is needed.
03.03.2025 12:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"Questions" (about paternity, because that is a hell of a height difference!)
28.02.2025 00:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm so sorry for your loss.
12.02.2025 22:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I know it's old news, but what cruel, sick bastard names his kid something like that?
11.02.2025 21:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hell yeah! Another couple of things I think are really important:
1) Pass Bernie's No More Billionaires bill. This solves the root of virtually every problem we have.
2) Fund election campaigns with public money only.
It can't afford for one citizen to horde half a trillion bucks to himself, period! Bernie's No More Billionaires bill is a must if we ever come out of this.
10.02.2025 18:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Haha! We haven't started on Bezos and Zuckie yet!
10.02.2025 14:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0More billionaire math: if Musk's fortune were dissolved and returned to the people of America, that would be over $1200 for each person. If it were weighed more heavily to the poor, say 50% to the bottom 25%, then a family of 4 would receive over $14,000, a life changing amount.
10.02.2025 14:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Totally agree with you about sports. Regarding AI, I think this is an opportunity to buck the trend. In a world full of AI noise, be the place where humans write stuff.
09.02.2025 23:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0To be truly republican about it, you'd have to allocate EVs based on how much a state is contributing financially! That would mean no EVs at all for most red states, since they are net takers.
09.02.2025 12:03 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I absolutely agree, and I think it is a once in a lifetime opportunity for other countries to poach our top researchers and fund them to continue their research at local universities. Once we realize how badly we've screwed up, you can't just turn the funding back on and expect them to return.
09.02.2025 11:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The only place where white people have R > 2.1 is in mobile home parks. They don't need transportation, they need investment in education and outreach so there is a future. Free readily available BC would also be good. Glorifying 19 year olds w/ 3 kids and all options already gone is sick.
07.02.2025 17:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just ordered mine too! I feel that there is so much (negative) noise about this issue that it's on us to really educate ourselves. Thanks for writing this, Dr. Turban.
07.02.2025 14:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My piece, 'The Centre Cannot Hold' (2019) which was the sister piece to 'Things Fall Apart' (see profile). This was the first time I tried my hand at a diptych. Pastel, Charcoal, Carbon and Conte on Bristol. Interpretations differ about what I was getting at here!
07.02.2025 00:50 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0100% with Bernie on this. At $1bn, you can have everything you want - 5th Avenue penthouse, country mansions, a nice yacht, etc. So what is the difference between that and $500bn? Power. The ability to buy elections, buy politicians, etc. So cap it at 1bn and most of our problems go away.
06.02.2025 19:41 β π 19 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0This is so tragic. They obviously see real education as something you purchase at a private school, with the public education system being relegated to a backup basic option for the poor. TX is already well on it's way, having reduced the school week to 4 days in many districts.
05.02.2025 20:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't think you do business with an out nazi in any way, shape or form. Stop issuing registration for new teslas, and give existing owners a year to turn them in and get re-imbursed. Then flat out ban.
02.02.2025 01:56 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0The title of the piece was 'The Second Coming' and it was done with pastel, charcoal, carbon, conte, and black colored pencil. It took about 115 hours for a 17 x 22" piece. This was one of the hardest pieces I've done. Maintaining some kind of harmony across all those jacket details was tough!
02.02.2025 00:38 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A realistic pastel and charcoal drawing of a modern Jesus as a woman. She is wearing a jean jacket with pins showing support for Black Lives Matter, Love is Love, Peace, and one saying "Never Again" with a cross through a nazi symbol.
I drew this in 2020 after George Floyd's murder. I am not religious, but think it is possible that Jesus existed as a historical figure. If he returned, what if it was as a woman? Wouldn't she stand with the protesters? What would she think of many of her followers standing with the oppressors?
02.02.2025 00:35 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I'm in North TX, and I go out walking early every morning. You are right about the fog. There has been a load - probably about 5-6 mornings, just since xmas.
30.01.2025 11:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wow! That is phenomenal! Congratulations!
28.01.2025 23:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wishing you a speedy recovery! π
