Evidence time changes are bad.

Now we know why Trump liked the name Big Beautiful Bill.

I doubt the DOJ copies are fully intact at this point.

Drove up into sequoia national park after charging up to 100% in Fresno. Wound up with 50% battery when we got there. Stayed a week. Left with about 40% & arrived at that same charger in Fresno with like 43% due to the regenerative braking.

His net worth is intrinsically tied to his Tesla shares. Tesla value is intrinsically tied to him being the CEO. Seems like heโ€™s trapped to me. But he owns 15%+ of the vote, so heโ€™s only gotta convince ~35% if 100% vote; probably significantly less.

USDA has money though right? So the cruelty & irresponsibility is manufactured by just the one side that actually has all the power.

Thereโ€™s a few competing bad reasons:
1) For domestic use
2) For international use
3) For enrichment of cronies

I think the people whoโ€™d cheer spending tax dollars that way, as Trump is, are disconnected from the reality of the largest part of the population.

The jokes a couple of months ago were โ€œlet them eat ballroom.โ€ Itโ€™s the same type of expenditure to undo.

The Speaker of the House has firm views that Bad Bunny is a terrible pick for singing at the Super Bowl, but hasn't had time to watch the President's speech to our military leadership or form an opinion whether furloughed federal workers should be paid or Illinois' governor should be thrown in jail.

I chose biographies of the presidents for my deep-dive learning. Currently on the second volume of Franklin Pierce by Peter Wallner. I expect to have real problems getting through the Teddy Roosevelt (Morris) and LBJ (Caro).

โ€ฆpain as a crucible, but I think they are otherwise dissimilar. The first seeks to create pain and chaos it cannot predict to reach its goal; the second accepts pain, and is reactive to its reality, examining & informed by the past, it prefers a different path than the one that created the present

So the publicโ€™s past response informs the future, but thereโ€™s not really a comparison between choosing to suffer the worse leader and viola get better government, and refusing to bail out the bad leader, whoโ€™s been elected, so the consequences for that choice are felt. Both arguments see collectiveโ€ฆ

03.10.2025 23:26 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Some calamity upon Trumpโ€™s reelection was predictable and the political will to let the public suffer consequences is low.

Second, the close call of trumpโ€™s reelection in 2020 was based largely on the back of those stimulus checks & so was his rehabilitation to the point of reelection in โ€˜24.

03.10.2025 23:26 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

No; but I think comparing the two is a fallacy.

First, exerting control over the future that thereโ€™d be no bailouts in the trump over Harris scenario ignores reality that shouldโ€™ve been challenged in that argument. But I mostly see those whoโ€™d make the argument as unserious.
