If I were dictator of America I would mandate that general tax revenue be used to install a large battery (say, 200MWh) next to every distribution feeder on the US grid. That would, in a stroke, solve basically all our grid problems & unlock *trillions* of dollars of economic growth & development.

Bar graph showing zonal mean surface air temperature anomalies for the period of June-July-August 2025. All latitude bands observed above average temperature anomalies.

All latitude bands were warmer than average over the last 3 months. This was particularly notable across the Antarctic around the South Pole (austral winter).

Plot shows zonal-mean temperature anomalies, where latitude = y-axis (not scaled by distance). GISTEMPv4 data using their 1951-1980 baseline

Scientists tap 'secret' fresh water under the ocean, raising hopes for a thirsty world Scientists conducting a first-of-its-kind drilling operation have extracted samples of fresh water hiding in massive reservoirs deep under the ocean.

β€œI didn’t hear the usual grinding of ice” When a Norwegian vessel reached the North Pole this week, the scientific team made an alarming discovery.

"What struck me most: the ease of access through what used to be a far more ice-covered region", expedition leader Jochen Knies tells us, "We had been sailing through open water at 6–8 knots, something unthinkable three decades ago."

See our report straight from the North Pole! #climatechange

September observes the largest losses of #Arctic sea ice concentration compared to any other month of the year. And NO increases. The largest declines are in parts of the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas.

I Drove an EV Deep Into the Wilderness. I Never Feared Running Out of Juice. Charging deserts are going away. It’s now possible to embark on a Great American Road Trip in an electric vehicle.

Something surprising is happening -- despite Trump admin's rollbacks of incentives for EVs and related tech:

America's fast charging infrastructure is exploding. We'll see a 3x increase in chargers in just the next 4 years.

I hit the road to experience it first hand:
