Torture Techniques from CIA Black Sites Were Used at Alligator Alcatraz Amnesty International, interviewing migrant detainees, identifies use of the confinement box. There can be no denying it is a torture prison

They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

Without checking via other means, Gettysburg's commander, Capt. Justin
Hodges, directed his crew to fire two SM-2s β€” one at Aircraft 107 and the other at Aircraft 112
- according to the report.
From the cockpit of the Super Hornet, the pilot saw the missile launch from Gettysburg, but was confused about the target.
"Yooooo that shit is crazy, I can't believe they're shooting a drone down," reads a quote from Aircraft 107's pilot in the separate account.
Within seconds the pilot and the weapon systems officer realized they were targets and ejected from the Super Hornet before it was destroyed by the first missile.

Let's not confuse the people giving the stupid orders with the people who have to deal with following them, who are often good and decent people.

This is why people find it hard to vote for Democrats. They’ll talk about how they are fighting for healthcare costs but then cave without doing a damn thing about them. Such a useless party.

The stars were plentiful, and in the aftermath of the lunacy, one of them stood in the Dodgers' clubhouse, still trying to process what happened. Will Klein, the last man out of the Dodgers' bullpen, a reliever who had topped out this year at two innings and 36 pitches, threw four innings of one-hit ball and struck out five on 72 pitches. The last of them, an 86 mph curveball, induced a swing-and-miss from Tyler Heineman and a scream from Klein, who understood what had been asked of him and knew he'd delivered.

Games don't become classics without efforts like Klein's -- and he had an admirer who wanted to acknowledge that. Into the Dodgers' clubhouse strode Sandy Koufax, his eminence of Dodgers pitching, who, at 89 years old, looked no worse for the wear at 12:48 a.m. Koufax walked up to Klein, stuck out his hand, looked him in the eyes and said: "Nice going."

Well, I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic.
When I

15
was arrange to be introduced to the head of the submersible

I. I did that through a mutual friend

Learned that an anonymous outside expert on submersibles did an interview with the OceanGate Titan investigation, and they released a transcript, with all the names redacted. The first line of his first answer? "I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic."

The longest professional baseball game ever played

One year, my dad missed my birthday because he had to cover a baseball game. Or: part of a game. The end of a Red Wings-PawSox battle that had been postponed after the first 32 innings ended in a tie several months prior. The Sox won it in the 33rd.

During a military-style raid on a building in Chicago’s South Shore, one resident heard a knock on his door.

It wasn’t the feds β€”Β  it was a mom and her 7-year-old daughter, pleading for help.

He let them hide in his unit for the next 3 days.

Judge Simon's right - he wasn't required to recuse, though he had the discretion to. The problem arises when principled judges recuse even if there's an appearance of bias but unprincipled judges like Alito and Thomas don't.
