Donald Trump Truth Social Post: Chicago Mayor should be in jail for failing to protect Ice Officers! Governor Pritzker also.
I will not back down.
Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected representatives checking his power.
What else is left on the path to full-blown authoritarianism?

I guess my big question is, are these
"beliefs" or is this rounding edges of messaging? We're in a very legitimate messaging war, and those trans "Trump is for you" ads swung the electorate and moved the center to the right
Those are abhorrent policy beliefs, but is it the necessary message to win?

No, we actually don’t need to embrace fascism to beat fascism but thank you for asking. I guess I shouldn’t be shocked that a fox sports reporter is asking if we should actually just embrace the fascism instead of you being fucking humans and fighting it.
“These are abhorrent polices but…..” is wild

Sounds similar to the Aurora, CO slumlord who helped create the “Venezurlan gangs have taken over entire apartment complexes” talking point in 2024.

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

Idaho's U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo and the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files • Idaho Capital Sun
Idaho's U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo has been stonewalling an effort release Epstein materials that his staff reviewed more than 18 months ago.
COMMENTARY | Crapo, it seems clear, has been stonewalling any effort to force release of material that members of his staff reviewed more than 18 months ago, writes guest columnist Marc Johnson. #idpol

The legal system does not care about moral correctness. You can be as morally pure as you want, but guess what? You're going to lose.
I don't like it. I *HATE*it. But the unfortunate reality is that this is the system there is.

Every time Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York-the Democrat with the most power in a shutdown because his withholding of seven senators toward a procedural vote keeps Republicans from proceeding-says that Democrats are looking to open the government through a negotiation around and deal on Affordable Care Act subsidies, he is acquiescing to the idea that a government in which Border Patrol agents paid with our tax dollars can shoot real bullets at protesters in Chicago after screaming "Do something, bitch!" can and should be deemed legitimate.
The truth is that Democrats can pay a million consultants to come up with a million different talking points on health care subsidies. They can keep holding press conferences in the Senate studio like every other press conference before it, talking to the same reporters, pretending like we live in a redeemable timeline where if they just keep on acting like it's 2007, we might fall through a time portal that makes it so. But we live here in a country with a co-opted executive branch led by racist, xenophobic idiots who do not believe in law, empowered by a slavishly devoted Supreme Court that has decided shoveling unlimited power to said executive is more important than the law it disregards, and where the president thinks he can send national guardsmen from red states to blue states just because people of color live here and Fox News hosts hate that.

The Case for the Forever Shutdown
Senate Democrats actually allowing the GOP to stop funding the government is only the first step. Now they have to make the case that Trump’s government is illegitimate.
Bridging my current life in Chicago and my past life in D.C., I argue today at @newrepublic.com that Democrats should ~never~ vote to fund this government. Make John Thune blow up Senate rules and Republicans wholly own the U.S. extra-military military doing war crimes against us, funded by us.

This will probably get very limited coverage in the news as journalists have all decided that what Trump says is not connected to what the federal government does.

Ranking Members Raskin and Scott are demanding a federal criminal investigation into the Trump Administration’s commandeering of furloughed career civil servants’ email accounts to send partisan out-of-office messages, in violation of the First Amendment and criminal law.

"France’s prime minister resigns less than a month after appointment"
What a disaster!
How can this happen?
Is France completely dysfunctional? Just like the US.

I have lived in New England for the majority of my life and I've never bought winter tires. I'm not saying that's a good thing, but where do people keep their other tires all year when they live in an apartment?
