Why 'best time to visit' no longer applies
Climate change is rewriting the rulebook for trip planning β and travellers need to adapt.
Interesting that this article discusses the challenges of planning travel in a world where our climate has become more extreme and less predictable, but fails to recognize that we must travel less to curb emissions causing climate change.

The truth hurts. Disappointed to see folks pile on shaming and misdirected anger in response to Suzukiβs statement just because he says what any thinking person already knows.
He also said, βIβm not giving up in the sense of not doing anything.β Suzuki has no fucks left to give, & Iβm here for it.

Itβs my first season with a solar installation and Iβve wondered how wildfire smoke events would impact production. Even though the air quality health index is 11 (very high risk), the smoke must not be blocking sunlight too much because Iβm not seeing a negative impact on solar production. βοΈ

Since I mentioned solar, not all installers are created equally. I got 4 quotes. Only one company (SkyFire) came to do an onsite evaluation using a drone and this was also the only company that required an engineering assessment to determine if my roof could handle the load. Guess who I chose?

Agree. I used to own a townhouse and not having the ability to adapt or mitigate climate change there was one of the reasons I got a house, which is only 700 sq ft and the same cost as many condos. More needs to be done to allow renters and condo owners to live in safe spaces too.

Whether youβre running a/c, an air source heat pump or the fan on your furnace to circulate air, use a furnace air filter with a MERV rating of 13 or higher to remove toxins. An air quality monitor should measure PM 2.5 and VOCs, as this is whatβs in wildfire smoke. Check product ratings on Consumer Reports! I have an Airthings View Plus. If you can afford a/c, consider an air source heat pump. Itβs the most efficient way to cool (and heat) air. Andβ¦
