If you want a really cracking piece of foundational Iranian cinema, I highly recommend The House is Black by Forough Farrokhzad. A short documentary about leperosy sufferers in Bababaghi Hospice in Iran.

I have, it's a masterpiece. My favourite Kiarostami films are Where Is The Friend's House and Life, and Nothing More.

Kiarostami is such a singular filmmaker; there isn't even a bad imitation out there.
