06.08.2025 14:08 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I've done IC work as an engineer for a long time and I rely on documentation and IDE hints all the time -- no shame!
I do a lot of work with dates and times, and strftime.org was one of the places I ended up going to a LOT
Looking forward to being able to get the book as an ebook! I might also get a paper copy for the office library here in Tokyo if I can find a way to ship one over

05.08.2025 06:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I don't enjoy buying things that are hugely personal that I can't try out first, like pillows, mattresses, or... shower heads.
Bought a new shower head and was hugely disappointed by how much it reduced the shower pressure and area ๐ซ
Congratulations!!
02.08.2025 05:41 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It totally feels like a startup fumbling around and creating tech debt some episodes, but that also feels like it happens because the writers sometimes try to tie in too much stuff without affecting canon ๐

01.08.2025 13:15 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I was so impressed by the ship design and how it really evokes a sense of motion forward like a drill even without external reference
01.08.2025 01:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I was trying to walk out of a parking lot and a car cut across me while backing up. The driver kept backing up and staring at me while gesturing for me to walk in front, and I kept saying no and trying to detour behind, which made him keep back up an even more ridiculous amount ๐
27.07.2025 07:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I fretted a lot about buying a clothes dryer when I bought the house, but it's definitely been worth all the time and stress saved, especially with two dogs (I type as I wash a bunch of stuff Noa threw up on today)

Or maybe this is just a quiz for cadets?
i CANNOT stop watching this
25.07.2025 15:28 โ ๐ 12796 ๐ 2713 ๐ฌ 705 ๐ 1414The Serpent Catch series by Dave Wolverton/David Farland is a mix of sci fi and fantasy; the idea of the kwea, an emotionally embedded memory, has stuck with me ever since I read the series as a kid

It's one of the best science fiction books I've read that deals with language and culture in a way that feels authentic
Super hopeful about this!
Next, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a Lensman series...
2/3 That kind of power demands caution, deliberate thought and emotional discipline. Because when you hold the most power in a room, the margin for carelessness disappears.
You donโt get to throw your weight around and expect others to carry it.
I thought of it because it was the first dish (albeit tomato) I'd seen where someone made the spaghetti in the sauce

> "knowing the character through a vague pop culture idea of them" vs "knowing them solely through adapted media"
This article discusses how the different levels of pop vs "canon" knowledge can affect a character as it's written by different generations and I never hesitate to link it

Luckily, past Scott knew this would happen and put the part number and link in the event details ๐
I think this happens to a lot of restaurants; I've seen so many places with SO many repeated clarifications on the picture itself, on the food name, in the description, and sometimes even a mandatory option saying "I know this is only one bar" that you have to check to be able to put it in your cart
21.07.2025 02:39 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I finally watched Andor and was going to rewatch Rogue One, and boy boy, CG Tarkin aged poorly. I forgot how distracting his lips were -- they're unreadable and completely fake

Everyone who knows me can say that I can't handle spice -- and they're right! This was positively mild to me
Something I don't enjoy about Disney+ closed captioning is that they often instead of describing the sound, explain them in terms of what they want you to feel. Instead of "trumpet fanfare" they'll say something like "triumphant music"
I'm not saying one is more correct, but I know which I prefer
