Bonus bonus thought: I have so many urgent things to do ahead of the official move in on the weekend but my god, it is very hard to stop myself from cleaning those windows.

Fun fact: the cottage even came with a name! Its government name is Fjärilsbo - Butterfly Nest! Friends are allowed to call it “the cottage”, though ;)

Today’s cottage delights: the light, the light! Nordic daylight is something special, I can’t explain it, but the cottage gets drenched in what feels like liquid gold and it’s giving me more serotonin than I can adequately articulate.

My mum’s best guess is that she liked throwing them into the fire for their smell and the crackling sounds, but this giant chest of pine cones feels a little excessive for that purpose. Any ideas?

Today’s cottage adventure: along with a variety of chicken coop illumination, sinks, antique skis and old window panes, we inherited a (checks notes) giant box of pine cones from the previous owners.
Short of her having actually been three squirrels in a trench coat, I wonder what these are for.

Someone was either very displeased with my absence all day, or all the attention her brother has been getting. Either way, the local antique just shoved her paw up my nose when I took too long to react to a tap on the arm.
