Feels like one of the biggest problem of our time is that we’re so well connected digitally, but feel more disconnected than ever, and we have access to more and more information but are less and less well informed.

I love my public library. They whiz books all around the state and let me pick them up at the cute little branch walking distance from my place. They accept my purchase requests. They send me amazing unexpected recs. The thematic shelving is always interesting. And the librarians are hilarious. <3

All humans want to control themselves. Strong people control themselves via self-mastery.

Weak people don't have self-mastery, so they attempt to control themselves by controlling others.

Autocrats aren't strong; they're dependent & weak. They need to subvert others' freedom to feel self-control.

I can’t either. Too slow for me to process/stay interested. I listen at 1.5.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.
