Made a demo upgrade for Steam Scream Fest 4.
If you filter:
Genres > Shooters
Sub Genres > Roquelites
Theme > Zombies...

From hundreds of games, Its the 2nd last one in there (after clicking Show More).

Honestly, I think no one will find it😝

Now about ~300 zombies in the scene, still playable.
Only have to remake the steering behaviors and the state machine etc. But this feels so promising!

Biggest challenge in my shooter has been keeping performance stable with more than 60 zombies. (the fps tanked)

Prototyped this morning another approach.. Now I am getting more than 200 enemies in the scene with framerate 100+.

haha yeah I had actually this personal challenge in my mind previously: to try make a whole game with just one 1024x1024 texture.

If you have small pixel density, that would have a ton of space for everything 🤣

Thanks! They are pretty consistent but not exactly "pixel perfect" (but close enough). Best way I found is to paint the images/sides first and then cut out the model from planes.

Yeah Blender has pretty deep learning curve, it takes you instantly to the deep end ;p

Installed old Blender 2.79b and old version of Sprytile to test out the pixel art lowpoly workflow.

This was actually way better than I remembered.
Everything came also out of the muscle memory!

The improvement was actually a lot better than I was expecting. Weapon made in Blender and then rendered into very low res 2d sprite!
