I know this is uncomfortable to admit, but there is a small area in England's second city where people are just not integrated with the rest of society. Many of them hold views that arguably go against British values.

Barely a squeak from the usual suspects on the free-speech right, of course, but this amounts to the most serious assault on free speech in living memory. We cannot accept a situation where hundreds of non-violent demonstrators are being arrested every weekend.

One significant - & dangerous - thing to watch for is professional commentators objecting to words rather than examining the evidence. It's pearl-clutching & cowardly, obviously, but also a deliberate attempt to avoid confronting exactly what they themselves are facilitating and often cheering on.

I mean, any political parties' leadership and membership - Labour or Reform, Conservative or Green - is just so obviously more diverse than it was even a decade much less two decades ago surely that's a clear sign of integration, that is replicated in neighbourhoods, families, workplaces everywhere
